Ocean Forest

If my manuscript were illustrated by photos, these would be some of my choices: an otter, the kelp fronds with sunlight shining through, and a breaching orca.

Finally, after years of researching kelp forests, my manuscript Ocean Forest is complete and seeking a publishing home. In the meantime, the back matter is posted on my author website under Teaching Materials. Kelp forests are so important! They sequester carbon--that is, they absorb carbon from an acidic ocean (unnaturally acidic, due to climate change), and give off oxygen. This is an ecosystem service. Thank you, kelp forests!
